Requirements: You must already have Necrotic Resistance and then gain a feature that grants you Necrotic Resistance a second time permanently. (resistance from spells, items or anything that can be dispelled or removed does not count as meeting this requirement. Racial and Class features can meet this requirement if they are permanent and do not have a duration or activation)

Necrotic Points
Necrotic Point Total: You are able to gain and store Necrotic Points equal to your CON ability score multiplied by your Proficiency Bonus
Gaining Necrotic Points: Whenever you receive Necrotic Damage from a source other than yourself as the originator (any necrotic damage caused directly by your character including weapon attacks, racial abilities, class abilities, spells or items worn or carried does not generate points) grants Necrotic Points equal to the spell level used in the casting. If the damage is from a non spell source than add necrotic points equal to the number of dice rolled minus 1 (to a minimum of 1 point). If the damaging source would generate would generate more points than you have the ability to store all points above your maximum allowed are lost.
Using Necrotic Points: When dealing damage (of any type) caused directly by you you can spend 5 Necrotic Points to add an extra dice of damage (using the damage's main source's damage die) as extra necrotic damage. You can add a number of extra dice equal to your Proficiency Bonus at the cost of 5 Necrotic Points per added damage die.
eg 01: You have 12 Necrotic Points. You cast Toll the Dead on an enemy (that's already hurt) you can spend 5 points to add an extra d12 to the damage of the spell, or use 10 points to add 2d12 to the damage of the spell.
eg 02:You have 12 Necrotic Points. An enemy tried to run from your threatened area provoking an opportunity attack and you hold a dagger. You can spend 5 points to add 1d4 necrotic damage to the dagger's piercing damage or spend 10 points to add 2d4 necrotic damage to the dagger's piercing damage.

*Spent Points are lost once damage is dealt (if your target has Necrotic Resistance spent points are lost normally. If your target have Necrotic Immunity then no damage is dealt and points are not used)

*Option: You can flavour the buildup of Necrotic Points by having dark veins appear on your body, changing your appearance to look more and more undead, evil runes and arcane marks like tattoos cover your body, bleeding wounds (only as a visual effect) appear for each point, or anything else you and your DM agree to. Or nothing at all, the effect can be as dramatic of subtle as you and your DM agree to. If using this option your DM may grant situational bonuses or negatives to Cha based skill checks if you can be seen.

* * Suggestion: To track your Necrotic Points I suggest creating a Custom Item [ Necrotic Points ] and adjusting the quantity to reflect your stored total.
* * * Note: This can be altered to be used with any damage type. (It was created specifically for my Assimar Necromancer) Enjoy.
