You can use a shield as a melee weapon with as much skill as one might use a sword. You gain the following benefits if you are wielding a shield.
- You can use a shield as a melee weapon with Shield Strike, dealing 2d4 + Your Strength Modifier bludgeoning damage. Shields used this way have the heavy property but can also be used one-handed if you have a strength score of at least 13.
- Your shield counts as a spellcasting focus or target for any spells involving weapons, such a Elemental Weapon or Booming Blade.
- Any bonuses to AC your shield has count towards hit chance and damage (i.e. A +1 Shield adds 1 to hit and damage rolls)
- If you have the weapon masteries for Warhammers/Greatclubs (Push) or Mauls (Topple), you may use one of them in your attacks with your shield. You can only pick one mastery per attack.
