The Genius Loci Bond is the result of a successful casting of the ritual to bind a Genius Loci. A Genius Loci is the guardian spirit of the locale mentioned above. They can take many forms, and contain varying levels of strength. The level of strength is determined by the location's mystical significance, its relative size, and several other factors (DM's discretion). For example, the Genius Loci of Haveric Forest on Carden is strong due to its size and the ley line which passes through it, while an Oasis in the Cadrac Desert, also on Carden, is significant enough to be a specific entity, but is neither large enough or mystically significant enough to be considered truly impressive. Not every place has a Genius Loci, and some places have guardian spirits so powerful that it is nearly impossible to bind for even the most powerful practitioners.
Once a Loci has been successfully bound to a caster, they bestow a number of abilities upon the binder. While this varies from spirit to spirit, they almost always include the following:
Intelectus: The binder has an innate, perfect knowledge of everything in the territory of the spirit. They know the exact location of every tree in the area, every animal, every root and stone and branch. While within the Genius Loci's territory, they cannot be affected by difficult terrain and can precisely pinpoint any entity, magical effect, or object within the territory. They cannot be surprised or blinded while within the Loci as a result.
Power of the Land: While within the Loci's territory, the binder can call upon the power of the land to fuel their power. This gives them the ability to add 1d12 to any roll they make three times per day while within the territory. The binder can also cast the Sanctuary spell without expending a spell slot while within the Loci's territory. the spell ends if either the binder or the target leaves the Loci.
When off the land, the binder gain's access to three druid spells of their choice of third level or lower. they can use one of these spells each dawn
