Heroic Spirit Image

You who conceal the mark of death, who have sworn yourself to the most honorable of deaths, shall not die in vain. For your valiant efforts to fulfill the vow you have made, your deity bestows upon you a fragment of divine power. Your spirit evolves, and in battle, you manifest the shadow and legacy of your predecessor. Disciple of Death, as love crosses your path, you discover a reason to live—and perhaps a reason to fight even harder against the fate you once embraced.

You began your journey as one who placed no value upon your own life—a soul who saw death not as an end, but as an inevitability to be welcomed. On the day of your first death, you stood before the God of Death and made a pact and from that moment onward, the pact became your law. A code etched into your soul, a vow that would guide every step of your journey.
Your god watched, through every battle, every loss, every victory, and every moment when death came within reach, your god remained a silent witness to your growth. You followed the pact faithfully, believing that death was not something to fear, but something to earn.
Yet as you traveled farther and lived longer, you began to understand something you had once been incapable of seeing, you learned the meaning of life.
You discovered the warmth of companionship, the weight of love, the pain of loss, and the purpose found in fighting for something beyond yourself. What began as a journey toward death slowly became a journey worth living.
So... you came to understand the truth your god had been waiting for you to discover "Dying is not a sin. But dying without having lived... is."

Your Ability, Fighting Spirit evolves as it lasts for 1 minute. Upon using your fighting spirit, you must roll a 1d6 to embody a portion of your god's power. For the duration of your fighting spirit, you gain a portion of your god's power. Additionally, any advantage on attack rolls granted by your Fighting Spirit lasts only until the end of your current turn.

D6 — Divine Aspect

1. The Fool
Upon embodying this aspect, you gain an uncanny courage—a fearless bravery that borders on foolishness, or perhaps merely false bravado.
For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, you gain temporary hit points at the start of each of your turns equal to half your fighter subclass level, multiplied equal to half of your proficiency bonus (rounded down).

Additionally, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you may instead drop to 1 hit point and immediately end your Fighting Spirit. When you do so, you may end a number of conditions affecting you equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down). After using this feature, you have disadvantage on attack rolls until the end of your next turn.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a Long Rest.

2. The Blade
Upon embodying this aspect, you gain an impeccable ability to cut through anything and everything.
For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, your slashing damage ignores resistance. In addition, when you score a critical hit with a slashing attack, the attack deals additional slashing damage equal to the damage rolled for the attack. This additional damage is not multiplied by the critical hit.

3. The Martyr
Upon embodying this aspect, you take on the mercy and noble character of a good person. Your allies—and especially those you love—become your source of strength, inspiring you to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good.
For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, when an ally within 30 feet of you takes damage, you may use your reaction to reduce the damage they take by half. You take the remaining amount of damage instead and it cannot be reduced or ignored. If this damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you may choose to trigger your final act of sacrifice. The allies protected by this feature immediately gain the benefits of completing a Short Rest. Once this feature is triggered, you cannot use it again until you finish a Long Rest.

4. The Lover
Upon embodying this aspect, your fate and destiny become intertwined with that of the one you love.
Choose one creature with whom you share a deep bond, such as a spouse, close friend, companion, or another creature you designate with their consent. That creature becomes your Bonded Soul. For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, while your Bonded Soul is within 30 feet of you, the bond between you allows you to share the burden of fate.

Shared Fate. When you or your Bonded Soul makes a saving throw, the creature making the saving throw may use its reaction to allow the other creature to make the saving throw instead. The creature that makes the saving throw determines the outcome for both creatures. If the saving throw affects only the creature that made it, the other creature is unaffected.

Shared Burden. When you or your Bonded Soul is hit by an attack, the creature that was targeted may use its reaction to choose for the other creature to become the target instead. The attack is then resolved against the new target using the original attack roll.

Once you use either Shared Fate or Shared Burden, you cannot use that feature again until the start of your next turn.
The bond represents a mutual connection and a shared fate. Both creatures must willingly accept the bond, and either creature may end the bond at any time. If the bond ends, this feature immediately ceases to function.

5. The Heart
Upon embodying this aspect, your physical form is transformed, and your gender changes to its opposite. This transformation lasts until you embody The Heart again.
For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, a mote of radiant light manifests within you, pulsing with the power of life. On your turn, you may use your action to forgo making attacks and channel this power into another creature you can see within 30 feet. That creature regains hit points equal to your fighter level multiplied by half of your proficiency bonus (rounded down). This healing cannot restore hit points to you, and you cannot use this feature on yourself.

6. The Death
Upon embodying this aspect, you glimpse the world through eyes that can perceive the shadow of death itself.
For the duration of your Fighting Spirit, when you score a critical hit against a creature with an attack roll of 20, that creature must succeed on a constitution saving throw.
The DC equals:
10 + half your fighter level (rounded down) + the number of Boons you possess
On a failed save, the creature must immediately make one Death Saving Throw, as though it were at 0 hit points.
If the creature succeeds on the Death Saving Throw, it becomes immune to this feature for the next 8 hours.
If the creature fails the Death Saving Throw, its current hit points are reduced by half (rounded down), and it has disadvantage on saving throws for the duration of your Fighting Spirit.
The effects of a failed Death Saving Throw from this feature do not stack. If a creature fails the Death Saving Throw again while already suffering from this effect, its current hit points are not reduced further, and it does not gain additional penalties to its saving throws.
