You have honed your use of your Breath Weapon, and the flammable nature of your saliva as a Red Dragonborn, allowing you to lend the light of flames to any bladed weapon as long as you can focus on it.
You can use a Bonus Action to spend your use of your Breath Weapon, causing flames to erupt along the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a Bonus Action to extinguish the weapon, or you drop, sheathe, or otherwise let go of the weapon.
This effect, while not a concentration spell, will restrict your spellcasting while it is active; you will not need to roll when taking damage to allow the effect to persist, but while it is active, you may not case any other spell or cantrip.
(Later improvements can either remove the concentration effect, or raise the number of dice added to the damage pool. Red Dragonborn only, effect can potentially be mimicked by any other ilk by adjusting the damage type)
