Your blood carries a trace of ancient power, allowing you to draw strength from the wounds you inflict upon others. As blood is spilled, your own vitality hardens and grows, empowering your strikes, allowing you to unleash devastating bursts of supernatural force, or reconstitute your body with sanguine power.
Hardblood.
Whenever you hit a hostile creature with an attack that deals piercing, slashing, or necrotic damage, you gain Hardblood equal to one-quarter of the damage dealt by that attack (rounded down). Damage from ongoing effects does not generate Hardblood. A creature without blood or a similar vital essence cannot generate Hardblood, as determined by the DM. You can have a maximum of 30 Hardblood. A Short Rest resets the Hardblood count to 0.
Blood Empowerment.
While you have Hardblood, your attacks deal additional damage based on your current Hardblood.
- 10–19 Hardblood: +1 damage
- 20–29 Hardblood: +2 damage
- 30 Hardblood: +3 damage
This bonus damage is the same type as the attack that triggered it.
Ascendant Hardblood.
When you have 30 Hardblood, you can use a Magic action to expend all your Hardblood and unleash an empowered attack. Choose a creature you can see within 60 feet and make a melee or ranged spell attack using your chosen spellcasting ability. On a hit, the creature takes 4d12 + your Constitution modifier + your spellcasting ability modifier piercing or necrotic damage (your choice).
Choose Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma as your spellcasting ability for this feat when you gain it.
Bloodfeast.
As a Bonus Action, you can consume all your Hardblood to regain hit points equal to twice your current Hardblood divided by three (rounded down) plus your Constitution modifier. Your Hardblood becomes 0 after regaining hit points.
A Note to the Player.
DND Beyond is not going to track Hardblood for you. Therefore, I recommend using a bar on roll20 or take note of how much Hardblood you have
