Prerequisite: Must be able to cast cantrips and have a Spellcasting ability of 13 or greater.
You've spent countless hours mastering specialized ways to cast cantrips. This exhaustive study, coupled with constant training and optimization has given you an uncanny level of control over the cantrips you cast. You gain the following benefits.
- Increase your spell casting ability score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- You are granted one additional cantrip from any class. You can use your spell casting ability when casting this cantrip.
- You gain the ability to cast any one of your cantrips as a bonus action once, per short rest. This increases to twice at 5th level, three times at 11th level, and four times at 17th level.

Posted Jan 22, 2021If I were to use this in my campaigns, I'd remove the third bullet point.
With the third point alone, PCs gain one to three free uses of Cantrip-only Quickened Spell Metamagic per short rest. Even with the existing Metamagic Adept feat, you only get 2 Sorcery Points which would translate to a single use of Quickened Spell per long rest.
Just the spellcasting boost and ability to select a Cantrip from any spell list but have it count as being one of yours and using your Spellcasting Modifier is a good balance compared to Magic Initiate.
I would suggest looking at the new Feats from Tasha's and comparing the power of your feat to the ones presented there.

Posted Feb 17, 2024Take this on your sorcerer to even out your charisma with your lvl 8 ASI. Use it to pick up Eldritch Blast. Then take eldritch adept at 12. Congrats you can do the quickened eldritch blast 9 times in a row at lvl 12. This is a cool feat but that last bullet point should be removed or make it once per short rest and with the stipulation that it's used like Illusionist's Bracers OR disallow it from picking Eldritch Blast. Otherwise bards and sorcerers are gonna have it way too easy to just get a warlock dip without slowing their spellslot progression.
