Boon of the Faceless Lord

You have taken power from a demon lord whose only purpose is to consume and dissolve. That power grows — and so does its hold on you.

Corruption Tier. You have a Corruption Tier, starting at 0. As it climbs, the boon grants you more power — and takes more of you in exchange. The specifics of each tier are revealed as you reach them.

Corruption Roll. Whenever you use the boon's power to harm or consume a living creature, commit a genuinely evil or callous act, or go too long without "feeding" the boon, your DM will have you roll a d4. On certain results, your tier increases.

Redemption Roll. When you experience a genuinely meaningful moment of human connection, your DM will have you roll a d4. On certain results, your tier decreases. This gets harder the higher your tier climbs — don't count on it.

Harnessing. You may deliberately invoke the boon for a scene-length benefit matching your current tier. Doing so guarantees the benefit — but immediately forces a Corruption Roll. Every time you lean on this power, you risk sinking further into it.

The end of this road: if your Corruption Tier ever reaches its maximum, you lose the character — it becomes an NPC, a servitor of Juiblex. This is not hidden from you: know it going in, and let it inform every choice you make about how hard to lean on this power

 
A gods ire. Taking power from Juiblex is a direct betrayal of what your oath is sworn to protect. Sylvanus will not strike you down for this. Sylvanus will also not forgive it easily. Expect your connection to strain as your Corruption Tier climbs — how, exactly, you'll have to find out.
