Prerequisite: Requires an Intelligence score of 17 and the ability to cast at least one spell
Your experience and control over magic has become proficient enough to implant 1 spell that you can cast into an inert, non-magical item.
- You gain expertise in the Arcana Skill.
- This will use a spell slot of the spell level selected to be used in the enchanting. You can use this skill once every three days and can only have one enchanted item at a time. Use the enchanting points system to keep track if you have an enchanted item. If you already have an enchanted item, simply destroying it will null the enchantment, restoring your enchanting point.
- The difficulty of enchanting an item is determined by your knowledge in magic, type of item, level of spell, and spell casting ability. The formula for the Intelligence(Arcana) check is below.
DC 10 + spell level (Cantrips = 2) + Item type (Trinkets = 3, Gems/Stones = 3, Mundane Items = 4, Weapons = 5) + spell uses
If you roll a critical success, the item is enchanted with +3 additional uses of the spell. If you roll a critical failure, the item disintegrates and you are unable to cast the chosen spell for 1 year. If you fail in enchanting the item, it is destroyed and cannot be repaired.
