Origin Feat
Due to unstable genetics or a rampant curse, your body grows increasingly malformed over time.
Each level, roll a D6 to determine which skill to apply a level of [Thorns] to. [Thorns] causes the corresponding skill to be reduced by -1 per level. [Thorns] can be damaged by physical trauma or temporarily repressed via medical skill checks. Damaged [Thorns] retain skill reduction, but repressed [Thorns] do not. Repressed or damaged [Thorns] are always restored first when a character is magically or naturally healed, consuming 1hp of healing each.
Medical Repression: This procedure takes 15 minutes to complete, help reduces this to 8 and grants Advantage. Based on supplies, make a medical skill check: DC 10 with medical supplies and anesthesia, DC 15 with only medical supplies or anesthesia, DC 20 otherwise. On failure: lose 1d4 hp. On success, remove 1 level of [Thorns] from a chosen category.
Entanglement: On physical contact with a creature (Ally or Enemy), that creature must make a either a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or DC 15 Dexterity skill check. On failure, each applicable level of thorns inflicts 1d4 slashing damage on the triggering/target creature. If the physical contact was from an action, that action fails. *This can apply to positive actions, such as an ally carrying your unconscious body!*
Eyesore: -1 to all investigation, Persuasion, Animal handling, and Perception skill checks. -2 to Charisma.
Optional rule: Each skill has a corresponding body area afflicted: Strength -> muscles, Dexterity -> joints/cardiovascular, Constitution -> bones, Intelligence -> head/brain, Wisdom -> senses/digestive system, Charisma -> larynx/skin, especially on the face.
