Prerequisite: Requires character to be a Bard

Your musical talent has found an audience beyond the tavern, stage, or street corner. Through an enchanted broadcasting crystal, your performances can be heard by viewers across Stoneveil. Some come for the music, others for entertainment, and a fortunate few may become generous supporters.

Arcane Broadcasting Crystal. You possess an enchanted crystal that broadcasts your voice and the sounds of your instruments to other compatible magical devices. The crystal transmits audio only, and viewers cannot see you. You can read messages sent by your audience and respond verbally. You cannot use the crystal to watch other broadcasts or communicate privately with another broadcaster.

Live Performance. Once per long rest, you may spend 2 uninterrupted hours singing, playing an instrument, or performing a combination of the two while broadcasting through your crystal. These two hours count as light activity during your long rest, provided you otherwise meet the requirements for completing that rest. You cannot perform other light activities, such as keeping watch, studying, crafting, or identifying magical items, during this broadcast.

At the end of the performance, make a DC 18 Charisma (Performance) check. All normally applicable bonuses and modifiers affect this check. The DM may grant advantage based on the circumstances or location of the performance.

You can make only one qualifying streaming attempt per long rest, regardless of its outcome. If the performance is interrupted by combat, strenuous activity, incapacitation, or another event that prevents its completion, the attempt is expended and produces no reward.

Viewer Donations. On a successful Performance check, viewers may donate spell scrolls. The number of scrolls awarded depends on your Performance result, while the possible spell levels depend on your character level and the corresponding reward table:

Performance total

Reward

Natural 1

No scroll; humorous complication

2–17

No scroll

18–21

1 scroll

22–25

2 scrolls

26–29

2 scrolls, improved reward odds

30+

3 scrolls, improved reward odds

Natural 20

At least 1 scroll guaranteed

Improved reward odds means the DM uses the appropriate higher-quality portion of the reward table, not that the player chooses the spell.

Natural 20. A natural 20 on the Performance check guarantees at least 1 spell scroll, regardless of the total result. If the total result would normally award additional scrolls, you receive those additional scrolls as normal.

Natural 1. A natural 1 always results in a failed performance, produces no scrolls, and triggers a humorous complication determined by the DM.

Audience Growth. Your audience and reputation grow alongside your character level. Every two character levels, your potential spell scroll rewards improve according to the Arcane Streaming Progression table. Audience size is determined by character level rather than tracked separately.

Rare Jackpot Donations. Certain exceptionally generous viewers may donate a spell scroll one level higher than your normal reward range. These donations are exceptionally rare and are determined by the DM's reward table. You can receive no more than one jackpot scroll per performance, regardless of the number of scrolls you would otherwise receive.

Unpredictable Donations. You cannot choose or request the spell contained in a donated scroll. The DM determines all donations using the appropriate reward table. A successful donation materializes beside your broadcasting crystal, and the original donor permanently loses the donated scroll.

Donated scrolls are ordinary physical items and may be stored, traded, sold, or given to another creature.

Scroll Identification. When you receive a donated spell scroll, you may make a DC 8 Intelligence (Arcana) check to identify the spell it contains. On a successful check, you learn the spell's name and level, but this check does not automatically reveal hidden curses, magical alterations, or other unusual properties. On a failed check, you cannot identify the spell through this feature, although other methods of identification remain available.

Unfamiliar Magic. You can attempt to cast spell scrolls received through this feature even if the spell is not on one of your class spell lists. When casting a spell of a level higher than your Bard spellcasting permits, make a Charisma spellcasting ability check with a DC equal to 6 + the spell's level. On a failure, the spell disappears from the scroll without taking effect. Otherwise, the scroll follows the normal rules for casting spells from spell scrolls.

Broadcast Restrictions. A qualifying performance cannot be completed during combat. Broadcasting does not summon reinforcements, grant combat bonuses, or allow viewers to intervene directly in an encounter.

Unwanted Attention. Your broadcasts can attract more than supporters. Particularly memorable performances, disastrous failures, or unusual magical activity may attract rival entertainers, wealthy patrons, hostile viewers, or other interested parties at the DM's discretion.
