Prerequisite: A full season keeping Old Way dates under a teacher who reads the Lamp, and a reckoning of your own that turned out right.

Thirteen houses, thirty-one days each, five days that belong to nobody. The Concord calls it a fraud and prints nothing about it, which is fair, because it is a fraud. You gain the following benefits:

  • Once per long rest, you can spend 10 minutes reckoning the date, the house, and the Lamp’s phase. Make a DC 15 Intelligence check. On a success, the GM truthfully tells you when and where the next containment failure will occur within a mile of you — the hour within one, the place within a street. On a failure you get nothing at all, and you know you got nothing.
  • Once per Lamp-turn, you can make the same reckoning for the whole coming turn, across the ward rather than the street.
  • You always know the current Old Way date, house, and phase without reference, and you have advantage on Intelligence checks to reckon dates, convergences, and observances in either kalendar.

Drawback. A reckoning spoken aloud is a claim, and claims are the Concord’s business even when the subject is nonsense. If you state a reckoning publicly and it comes true where Concord personnel can connect the two, you gain 1 Heat. Worse, people remember. Ward folk will start coming to you for readings, in numbers, at your door — and the Concord notices a crowd long before it notices a heretic.
