Prerequisite: Requires spells Create Undead or Animate Dead

You have extensively studied necromancy for some time and have a very powerful mind. This has led you to be able to completely dominate the will of most undead creatures.

Undead created when using the spells Animate Dead or Create Undead are permanently under your control until such time as they are destroyed or you dismiss them from your control.

You may use your turn to attempt to bring an undead creature you can see withing 60 feet under your control. That creature makes a charisma saving throw against your spell-save DC. If it succeeds on its initial save, then it is immune to further attempts to control it. Intelligent undead are harder to control in this way. If the target has an Intelligence of 8 or higher, it has advantage on the saving throw. If it fails the saving throw and has an Intelligence of 12 or higher, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of every hour until it succeeds and breaks free. You can attempt to regain control over a creature once it has broken free from your control.

The number of creatures you can have permanently under your control is equal to your Int Mod + Wis Mod + Spell-casting modifier. Attempting to gain control over more creatures than this will result in each creature under your control making a saving throw to break free from your control, with advantage, for each attempt. Successfully retaining control over more creatures than your limit results in you taking 1d4 cumulative psychic damage per round (ex: R1=1d4 dmg, R2=2d4 dmg, etc) until you are no longer exceeding your control limit.
