You have become blinded! Whether you were born this way, willingly removed your eyes, or unwillingly, you are now permanently blind! All is not lost, as through extensive training you have learned to hone your other senses in order to continue to perceive things around you. Using some form of innate talent, whether it be magic, ki, a boon from a God, or simply skill and time.
if you were cursed, had your eyes removed, or lost your sight in some other way, you also see things in a sort of fuzzy haze. When you "see" someone through the vibrations they make naturally, you don't see their precise shape, instead "seeing" a fuzzy outline of them. This effect doesn't disadvantage you in any way, but when you 'see' a creature that is humanoid, it might take you a bit longer than most to determine its race.
If you were born this way, you learned to hone this talent over your years of life, and you see things in a different way than other people. You don't suffer from the same disadvantage that someone who had their sight removed will, as you've spent years learning what those "fuzzy outlines" correspond to.
- You permanently have the Blinded Condition, though it imposes no disadvantage on your attack rolls or ability checks on any creatures so long as they are touching the ground. Against flying and incorporeal opponents you will have disadvantage on attack rolls.
- You gain Tremorsense with a range of 120 ft. if an effect or location removes your sense of touch, you will gain Blindsight instead with a range of 30ft.
- You can "see" any objects or obstructions in your path, including trees, rocks, and manmade objects like buildings and furniture.
- Your "sight" is that of shades of grey, so you can't discern color when you look at something.
- You cannot read unless you're reading a carving, and you can't view a painting or drawing.
- You gain disadvantage on all ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws when you are fully submerged or swimming in water or some other liquid, you also lose your Tremorsense while you are swimming or fully submerged.
- The above also applies if you are flying or levitating off of the ground, whether by magic or wings.
- If you have some magic ability or ki, you gain the passive ability to "see" incorporeal or flying creatures. Doing so requires no usage of a ki point or spell slot, but does require some innate talent with these abilities. Characters such as a Cavalier Fighter would not get this ability, but an Arcane Trickster Rogue would. Your DM may decide if your character or class can.
