Versatile Weapon Master

You've learned to maximize the utility of versatile weapons:

• When you are wielding a versatile weapon with which you are proficient and another creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to add +1 to your defense potentially causing the attack to miss you. This increases to +2 if wielding the weapon in two hands.
• Before you make a melee attack with a versatileweapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -3 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you add +5 to the attack's damage.
