Your dealings with a greater power of the Infernal Realms has granted you an awesome and terrible power. Originally a weapon against the demons, you feel the urge to pour it out over all forms of evil. The reek of burning brimstone and choking smoke fill the air as veins of blood-red flame spread through your spells and magical focuses. Using Hellfire carries an addictive satisfaction, but you feel like a part of yourself is being burned away with each use.

Infernal power flows through your veins allowing for your flames to burn even hotter, for the price of your physical constitution. When you cast a spell that does damage, you may expend a number of hit die up to the level of the spell to add extra fire damage to the spell. This Hellfire adds unique properties to the associated with the spell:

  • Spells imbued with Hellfire ignore creature resistance and immunity to fire damage. Devils remain immune to this effect.
  • Hellfire cannot be extinguished by water, but cannot ignite something doused in holy water
  • As an additional cost to the spell you must resist the physical exhaustion of empowering the spell with Hellfire. Make a constitution saving throw (DC of 10 + spell level) or suffer one point of exhaustion.
