Whip Master Image

You have trained extensively in the use of whips, and are able to manipulate your whip to great effect on the field of combat. When you take this feat, you gain the following abilities with your whip:

  • When you make a successful melee attack with your whip, you may use your bonus action to attempt to grapple the target with the whip. The DC of the escape check for your target is 8 +  your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (whichever you used to make the attack roll). The target must succeed either an athletics or acrobatics check (their choice) to escape the grapple.
  • If you have a creature grappled in this way at the beginning of your next turn, you may use your bonus action to make one of the following maneuvers. If you begin your turn with a creature grappled in this way, the grapple ends at the end of your turn. Large or larger creatures have advantage on any checks made against your Whip Master DC:
    • You may attempt to pull your target 5' directly closer to you. The target must make a Strength saving throw against your Whip Master DC or be pulled 5' in a straight line closer to you.
    • You may attempt to trip your target and pull it to the ground. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
