You gain the ability to completely modify your weapon. This is out of battle and in. Out of battle you can do physical changes to your weapon and the more knowledge you have a gun the more you can do with it in and out of battle. In battle it depends how much you know the gun. Your knowledge comes from you taking time out to learn the weapon. This can go from just cleaning it to completely taking it apart and putting it back together. Depending how well you clean and take it apart (you determine so by rolling a D8 and D20 adding modifiers for each time you do so) you gain knowledge on the weapon up to 100%.
