You have been charmed by a smoke elemental and developed the unique abilities passed on by such a fate. This allows you to take on an alternative form twice per long rest. When desired, you can use an action to enter Smoke Form.
When you enter Smoke Form, your body and equipment slowly dissolve, becoming semi-transparent, as smoke pours off your body. The smokey haze covers the ground about one foot high, out in every direction from you for 20 feet (a 40-foot diameter in total).
The following attributes are applied when in smoke form:
- Your hit points are immediately halved (round up)
- Your AC becomes 14 + your Constitution modifier.
- Your DEX becomes 20. All your other stats stay the same.
- You become immune to all physical damage (you are still susceptible to non-physical damage, such as magic).
- You can no longer attack with physical damage (you can still use magic to deal damage).
- You can no longer move freely, but you gain access to the spell Misty Step. This can be used as a free action once per turn in place of your movement.
- You cannot leave the hazy area while you are in Smoke Form.
- You are now floating and impervious to any hindering terrain (including non-solid terrain, like water and lava).
- You cannot use any of your equipment, including any bonuses. They are currently part of your smoke form.
- You cannot grab or hold any object while in Smoke Form.
- You gain the spells Blur, Poison Spray, Fog Cloud, and Stinking Cloud. You can choose to use any of these once per turn as your action. Durations longer than one turn are each changed to one turn and reset at the beginning of your next turn. When casting these spells while in Smoke Form, they do not take any spell slots.
- While you are in Smoke Form, you can communicate with elementals even if you could not before.
- If your hit points drop to zero, the spell ends, and your body returns to normal.
The spell ends when you take a turn to end it or when you drop to zero hit points. You do not regain the hit points you lost when changing form or that you lost while in the form until you are healed or take a long rest.
