Prerequisite: The ability to cast at least one spell
You have refined your spellcasting, gaining the ability to twist your spells to suit your needs. You gain the following benefits:
- You learn a metamagic option of your choice from among those available to the sorcerer class. You can use only one Metamagic option on a spell when you cast it, unless otherwise noted.
- You gain 2 sorcery points. These points are used to fuel your metamagic. A sorcery point is expended when you use it. You regain expended points when you finish a long rest.

How does this work for a Sorcerer? Do they get an additional +2 sorcery points? (Overriding the rule that says a sorcerer can only have sorcery points up to their level?) Does this also give them an additional metamagic option?
The feat acts like Martial Adept. A sorcerer could take this feat and gain an additional 2 sorcery points and a metamagic option.
A great feat! Tbh, it makes me wonder why it isn't in the PHB to begin with! Well done! (Once again!)
Because Metamagic, unlike Martial Adept, is a Main-Class feature...its the main if not only reason someone would pick a sorcerer over wizard. When you take the core mechanic of a class away from them you have less a reason to play the actual class itself....then that's bad design that's why.
Thank you for your critiques Hakemmx!
I see where you're coming from, and your reasoning might be why a similar feat does not appear in the PHB. But I believe this view overlooks subclasses and the flavor divide between the two. I would also like to point out that this feat only gives a small taste of sorcerer and doesn't touch Font of Magic's abilities.
If you have any ideas about how to improve the feat's design, I would be more than happy to hear it.
i think that just further proves how boring and single note sorcerer's are that the only good thing about one is meta magic there are no great advantages to being one over a wizard aside from it your spell list is gutted version of the wizard listed with only 1 spell unique to them alone which they didn't even have in the PHB sorcerer's need more unique spells to them and them alone
I know this might be a stupid question... but would this feat be good for wizards? Because it seems geared towards sorcerers to me.
As many people have mentioned above, this feat would make wizard a powerful choice. Like superiority dice, sorcery points are treated as a resource other spellcasters can gain. A wizard may pick up quickened spell or silent spell as a way to amplify or complement their own talents.
This is cool, but unlike martial adept this won’t refresh on a short rest and only 2 points means you can’t use heightened spell. Not that it’s a problem to limit which metamagics are available, but It doesn’t warn of this possibility. If a wizard picks heighten spell they will discover they can’t use it at all. Also giving a savvy sorcerer more sorcery points at lower levels might be over powering. A Human Variant at lvl 2 has one more spell than any other slot casters including another caster that took this feat. Maybe switch it to pick two metamagics and once a day you can use one without spending any sorcery points. It’s good for sorcerers because they can have more variety in their metamagics by picking up two options and have a free version once a day. It’s good for any other caster because they can sample with options. They could have heighten and quicken (or whatever combo they like) and then choose which one they need or fits the circumstance each day. No sorcery points needed.
Hi Ain_Undos,
This is excellent advice and I love your suggestion! I will definitely take this into consideration if I rework the feat.
Though I don't have extensive experience playing a Sorcerer, I would tend to side with Hakeemx1. It's a feat that almost makes a class's core feature seem redundant and therefore might cause one to feel that the Sorcerer is itself redundant. However, I think that is why Astromancer only limited the sorcery points to 2. This would prevent some of the more powerful applications of Metamagic, like Heightened Spell or Twinned Spell used on 5th level spells. As such, my main critique is not so much with the feat as it is with the base Sorcerer class, which should have gotten more Metamagic options and better spell slot-to-SP conversion ratio in the first place to make up for their limited selection of spells.
