Blood Drinker. Even though you are undead, you still require sustenance in the form of blood to sustain your unholy existence. You are immune to diseases. You do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish, though this food is always bland and stale to you. If you go for longer then three days without drinking at least one ration of blood, you suffer one level of exhaustion on the midnight of that day, which can only be removed by drinking a ration of blood. After consuming one ration of blood, you recover all levels of exhaustion. If you reach six levels of exhaustion due to this trait, you are destroyed. While exhausted from not drinking blood, you cannot regain HP from any source, outside of drinking blood that will end the exhaustion.

Bite. All vampires have sharpened teeth capable of tearing flesh from bone and draining blood from the body. As an action, you can attempt to grapple a target. If successful and the target is a humanoid, the target receives 1d6. The vampire heals for amount of damage dealt. Your Unending Thirst determines whether or not you spend your next action consuming blood.

Blood Sense. You can sense any Humanoid or Beast within 120 feet. You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks for tracking the source of the blood.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Refined Taste. Drinking blood that is not directly from the source of a humanoid body can sustain you, but will not heal you. Blood consumed in this way will extend your need for fresh blood by 24 hours and you do not gain the benefit of additional HP. When sustained in this way, you must succeed on a Wisdom or Charisma saving throw. The DC starts at 10, and increases by 4 each day you go without fresh blood. On a failed saving throw, you are Charmed and must attack the nearest humanoid blood source, and must consume 4 HP worth of blood, plus an additional 4 HP for each 24 hours gone without fresh blood. Once the required amount of blood is consumed, you are able to make you can make saving throws with the Unending Thirst feature.

Regeneration. When you use Hit Dice to recover HP during a short rest, you always heal the maximum amount for the hit dice.

Superior Body. With your unnatural strength, and urge to hunt, you gain the benefit of power, agility, and charm. You gain +4 to your Strength Score, +4 to your Dexterity score, and +2 to your Charisma score. Your movement speed is also increased by 5 feet.

Unending Thirst. The need for blood is more than just for sustenance, it is an unyielding lust. When using your Bite feature, even on a willing target, you must succeed a Wisdom or Charisma saving throw, DC 17 to end the Bite. If the target succeeds on escaping your grapple before you succeed on the saving throw, you must spend your action to use your Bite feature again. While not grappling a target, the Wisdom or Charisma saving throw DC is lowered to DC 14. You may repeat saving throws at the beginning of your turn.

Unholy Body. Dark magic sustains you, making you resistant to necrotic damage. Healing potions do not have a healing effect on you. Instead, they deal poison damage equal to the amount that was meant to heal. Healing spells only benefit you if the source of that healing is accepting of your monstrous existence (e.g. a Cleric whose Diety does not approve using its divine power to heal you do not work).

Undead. Your creature type is considered to be undead.

Vampire Weaknesses. Although vampires can be incredibly strong, their curse still comes with several notable drawbacks:

  • Forbiddance: You can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
  • Running Water: Your flesh is torn apart in the presence of water, you take 20 acid damage when you end your turn in running water. This damage may not be reduced in any way.
  • Stake to the Heart: If a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into your heart while incapacitated in your coffinic structure, you become paralyzed until the stake is removed if you are a true vampire. However, if you are a vampire spawn, you are instead destroyed.
  • Sunlight Hypersensitivity: You sear and burn in the light of the sun, your flesh immolating. If you end your turn in direct sunlight, you take 20 radiant damage. You also have disadvantage on any attack rolls and ability checks when in direct sunlight.
