Prerequisite: Monk
Accustomed to life-or-death battles, you gain the following benefits:
- Increase your Strength or Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- Your unarmed strike uses a d12 for damage.
- When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can use a bonus action to attempt to grapple, push, or throw the target.

Posted Apr 23, 2019Few issues:
1) If you take this prior to the last upgrade to your unarmed strikes, you really screw with balance because your damage potential spikes much higher than it should. Something that would be generally more useful without swinging too far one way or another would to just make it allow you to reroll any 1's from your unarmed attacks.
2) Monk's shouldn't have class specific feats that improve stats outside of their saving throws...it doesn't make sense to increase strength or con, but it would make sense to increase Strength or Dexterity.
3) That last ability is unneeded, because a grapple, push, throw, etc just replaces a single attack on your turn...so by level 5 you can just replace one of your attacks with the action, and regardless of whether you succeed or fail it if you use the second attack to attempt an unarmed strike or attack with a monk weapon, you automatically get to use a bonus action to make an attack...so basically it is a waste once you hit level 5 because 2 attacks with a grapple if one hits is much worse than 1 attempted grapple/shove/throw and 2 guaranteed attacks. So it is useless on someone that already has ways of getting an attack as a bonus action.
So in summary I'd suggest you ditch the increased damage die and make it to where you can reroll 1's from unarmed attacks, make it increase STR or DEX, not CON, and maybe add something flavorful like dealing an additional Monk weapon die on a critical if the attack was an unarmed strike rather than adding an ability that becomes literally useless at level 5.
