You have found a dragon egg and the creature inside it has chosen you as their Rider. From the moment they hatch, you and your partner share a bond that will grow stronger as you and your relationship do so. This dragon is very loyal to you, since you are who is raising them. From the beginning, you both share the same languages (even if the dragon cannot form words until they become a Young Dragon) and can communicate telepathically as long as you are closer than a mile away. This telepathy only applies for you and your dragon partner. Your life expectancy extends to that of your dragon, and you age at a very slow rhythm, if at all. Likewise, your dragon's growth is accelerated during the first part of their life, and, if they would have it, they lose the ability to polymorph into a humanoid at will. If you or your dragon fall unconscious and start rolling Death Saves, the other one is considered distracted due to worry, so they have disadvantage in all Ability Checks, Saving Throws and Attack Rolls that do not have to do with helping their partner until they become stabilised or die. If one of you dies, the other one must make a Wisdom Saving Throw with disadvantage (DC 20). On a successful save, they keep their sanity. On a failed save, they are considered permanently mad until their partner is brought back to life. This madness if incurable by any other means, with the exception of the Wish spell. However, even sane Riders or Dragons without their partner are not the same as they were before, and they are a duller husk of their former self.
