You gain a number of Forte Dice equal to your Dexterity modifier. These are represented as d6's and are fully replenished whenever you roll for initiative. Whenever you land a successful hit using a dagger, rapier, scimitar, shortsword, or whip on a single target, you can use one of your Forte Dice as a bonus action to apply any of the following effects. Some effects require material components, these components need to either be on your person or within 5 feet of you when you attack.
- Add additional damage equal to the Forte roll. The damage type is the same as the weapon's damage type.
- Add additional fire damage equal to the Forte roll. *requires a fire source such as a bonfire or torch
- Force the target to succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your Forte roll) or take 3 piercing or slashing (whichever your weapon normally applies) damage at the beginning of each of their turns for a number of rounds equal to the Forte roll.
- Force the target to succeed on a Strength saving throw or be disarmed.
- Give the target disadvantage on its next melee weapon attack against you.
- Ready a reaction to reduce the target's next melee weapon attack against you by a number equal to your Forte roll. If this reduction causes the attack roll to miss you, you can make an attack roll against the target.
