Tortle Zen Shell Slam Attack Image
Prerequisite: Tortle

You have learned how to use your shell as a weapon. After running to build up your speed, you leap into the air, withdraw into your shell and bounce, roll, flip, spin and crush everything in your path. As you master the Tortle Zen Shell slam, your attack becomes even more skilled as your limbs flash out and strike at opponents as you pass by them, often spinning rapidly upside down on your back.

  • The Shell Slam attack requires an action to use.
  • You can bounce and roll in your shell only as far as you run before you withdraw into your shell. For example, if you run 15 feet first, you can Shell Slam for 15 feet in a straight line.
  • Everything in your path your size or smaller must make a Dexterity save DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your wisdom modifier. Targets who fail the save must make an additional Dexterity saving throw, DC 10 or be knocked prone.
  • You deal damage to everything in your path equal to your Monk level + strength bonus + 2D6, and half as much to any target who makes their saving throw.
  • Any target in your path your size or smaller can try to stop you with an opposed strength check. You make your check with advantage.
  • Any target in your path larger than you who tries to stop you makes this check with advantage and you make your check with disadvantage.
  • DM may modify opposing rules given certain situations like 4 legged creatures, difficult terrain, or more than one size category difference.
  • As you go crashing through your zone of attack you may spend 2 ki points to make a single attack as a bonus action. You must complete a short rest before doing this extra Ki attack again. At 10th level you may make an additional attack for 2 more ki points, and a third attack at level 15, and a 4th a level 20, with each additional attack costing 2 ki points.
  • At the end of your attack you are left prone unless you make a Dexterity Save DC 14 to land back on your feet. For 2 ki points you can make this save with advantage.
