Posted Jul 12, 2020This does seem very overpowered, especially for a fighter. This is essentially giving a fighter a free action surge every turn, and if they are using a long range weapon, they most likely won't have to worry about moving too much anyway. Assuming a 20th level fighter attacks 4 times and then action surges, this is 8 attacks. On top of that, they get a free attack action to give them another 4 attacks, essentially allowing them to attack 12 times in one turn. They can do this twice (action surge can be used twice per long rest starting at 17th level) and then after that they can attack 8 times per turn. Perhaps this could be changed to
When you take the attack action on your turn using a ranged weapon, you can choose to forgo your movement to attack once as a bonus action. You can use this as many times as your Dexterity modifier per long rest. If you have already moved before you take the attack action, this feature cannot be used.
This feat has a really nice idea, but is probably a bit too overpowered, especially for fighters who already get 4 attacks on their action.
