In origin of the term Necromancy was the art of divining information by speaking with dead spirits. You have studied this and learned how to master that craft. You learn the spell Speak With Dead. You can cast this spell without requiring any spell slots or material components. Once you have cast this spell through this feat you cannot do again until you complete a short or long rest.
This spell is added to the spell list of any spellcasting class you have. If you are a wizard you may add this spell to your spellbook for free. If you are a spellcaster that "knows" spells instead of preparing them then you can add this spell as a known spell without it contributing towards your maximum of known spells.
NOTE: the features of the second paragraph cannot be added by a feat or item. It is recommended that you add the spell using the homebrew tools by editing the subclass you use or you can create a copy of the spell to add it to the class spell list or you can edit the background you use. For a wizard, once added to the wizard spell list you can add it to your spellbook like a normal spell.

Posted Sep 13, 2020Cyb3rM1nd thank you so much for the character builder guide I really like all your homebrew content and would like to use some of your races but I don't really know how I would do that if it is in the guide pls tell me where. Maybe I'm just being dumb lol. Btw I had a question about this feat, would it be totally wasted if you already knew the speak with dead spell? Thank you for all of your homebrew creations.

Posted Sep 13, 2020Hello! Thank you for the compliments. :) To use homebrew you will need a Hero subscription. If you have one you can add homebrew to your collection - there'll be a button on the homebrew details page. Once added, you can make a character using hombrewed races you've added by first turning Homebrew on for the character - there's a switch on the home page of the editor. Then go to choose your race and it will appear in the list.
For this feat, even if you already know the spell, the feat does allow you to cast it once for free (and again after a short or long rest) saving on spell slots, so it's still worthwhile.

I don't have a Hero subscription so I can't use any of your awesome homebrew. :( Thank you for letting me know about that. I saw how hard you roasted Brian_Avery two years ago I was laughing my head off as I read it! I was just looking up what a good class was and that was one of the first thing to pop up lol. You have been very helpful recently. Thank you so much! :)
