D'ivers Image

You are a higher order of shapeshifter, known as a D'ivers. When you take this feat choose a beast (or the appropriate swarm for beasts below small size). As an action, you are able to semble into the multiple fractions that make your D'ivers form and meld back into your single humanoid form once per day. You regain the use of this ability once you finish a long rest.

While in your D'ivers form you control each fraction independently, however all fractions must perform the same action (Attack, DodgeDisengage, etc.) each turn or use the Dash action.

While in your D'ivers form you have the collective perception of all fractions through a collective hive mind. This hive-self is not maintained if a fraction is on another plane of existence.

Use the stat block for the D'ivers form found in the Monster Manual with the following modifications:
-Use your proficiency bonus, with the addition of retaining proficiency in saving throws granted by classes and feats.
-You can understand languages you have learned, but are only able to speak languages the new form can articulate. This limitation applies to telepathic communication (such as if the D’ivers were a recipient of the Message spell).
-You maintain your proficiency bonus in trained skills and can use them within limitations/restrictions of your fractions form.
-You cannot cast spells, interact with items in your inventory, or use abilities the form does not possess.

When a fraction is killed, your total hit points are temporarily reduced by the hit points lost by that fraction until you complete a long rest. A fraction cannot be the target of resurrection magic.

In addition, if only one (or zero) fraction remains when you attempt to meld, your Strength drops to 3, if it isn't 3 or lower already, and you have a minimum of one exhaustion for 2d4 days. For each of those days that you spend resting and doing nothing more than light activity, your remaining recovery time decreases by 2 days to a minimum of one third of your hit dice (rounded up).

If some fractions cannot reach you (for example if they have been imprisoned, restrained, or are on another plane), you can meld into your normal form but reduce your hit point total as if they had been killed (see above). These reduced hit points are not regained until your fractions are melded. You must make a Constitution saving throw after each long rest (DC 9 + number of separated fractions). If you fail the saving throw you do not gain the benefits of the long rest as your soul remains torn in pieces.  When searching your inventory or attempting to use an item, there is a chance the item you are looking for remains on your missing fraction.
