Prerequisite: Strength 13 or higher.

You’ve developed the skills necessary to hold your own in close-quarters grappling. You gain the following benefits: (italics are variants of written rules)

  • You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature you are grappling unless they also have the grappling feat.
  • Visa-versa, you do not have disadvantage on attack rolls against a creature you are grappling who has the grappler feat (unless they are a size larger).
  • A creatures one size larger than you with the grappler feat still has advantage on attack rolls against you.
  • You can use your action to try to pin a creature grappled by you. To do so, make another grapple check. If you succeed, you and the creature are both restrained until the grapple ends.
  • You can use your reaction to counter-grapple a creature grappling you when they end the grappled or restrained condition that they have imposed on you by making your own grapple check. If you succeed, you have grappled the creature.
  • Creatures that are one size larger than you don't automatically succeed on checks to escape your grapple.
