You have undergone the long and arduous process (called the Elaormviuphy Procedure) that it takes to become Elaormvian. You are now able to, as a bonus action, transform between a creature and humanoid form without any verbal, somatic, and material components. This form is chosen in secret by the DM based on your character's alignment and personality traits.
Elaormvian can only transform into one creature form, and this form will not change once the Elaormviuphy Procedure is complete.
When transforming, you may consciously choose to not transform with the clothes, gear, and jewellery you are wearing. The default is that all three will transform with you.
The things that can prevent an Elaormvian from switching between their Elaorm (creature) and N’Elaorm (humanoid) form are as follows:
- Entering an Anti-Magic Field
- The Elaormvian is restrained, paralysed, incapacitated or petrified
- Entering an area affected by the Private Sanctum spell, if the caster of Private Sanctum has cast the spell with the intention of blocking this ability
- Being affected by the Feeblemind spell
A Dispel Magic spell (DC 20), Feeblemind spell, or rendering an Elaormvian unconscious will revert them out of their Elaorm form. The same will also happen upon dropping to 0 HP.
When in Elaorm Form, the Elaormvian cannot speak, but are able to understand the languages they can speak in their N'Elaorm form. If they possess the ability to communicate telepathically, they will only be able to telepathically communicate using emotions and feelings, similar to a pseudodragon. Their physical stats are replaced by that of the creature whose form they take, but they will retain their mental stats. They will gain the movement speeds of the creature they transform into. They will be unable to utilise any weapons, class traits, or racial traits they possess in their N’Elaorm form, which are replaced by the attacks and abilities of the creature they transform into. Their HP will remain the same, whereas their AC will be replaced by that of the Elaorm form they are in, without any bonuses from armour, class abilities, or feats.
While in Elaorm Form, the Elaormvian can communicate on a rudimentary level with creatures of the same species. The Elaormvian must succeed on an Intelligence check to successfully communicate ideas to other creatures, DC determined by the complexity of the idea and the Intelligence level of the other creature at DM's discretion.
When in Elaorm form, creatures who are inherently hostile towards humanoids and not creatures of the Elaormvian’s creature type will not become hostile.
A Elaormvian’s Elaorm form will share an identifying mark with their humanoid form. For example, if a person was missing a finger, their Elaorm form would also be missing a finger. A person who is aware of the Elaormvian’s identifying mark in their N’Elaorm form can identify an Elaorm with a successful Insight check against the Elaormvian’s Deception check.
Your lifespan is not affected when in your Elaorm form.
