You are able to acquire an animal companion capable of being trained, which improves as long as you travel together.

Choose one beast of challenge 1 or lower. The animal companion adds a number of extra hit die to its health equal to one half your level and adds half your proficiency bonus to its attack rolls, damage rolls, armor class and saving throws. These numbers change as your level and proficiency bonus increase. The selection of animal companions is reliant on DM approval.
