For any given reason, you are undead. Your life ended, yet did not, as your consciousness remains as well as the use of your body, maintained only by the magic that flows trough you.
You are now immune to necrotic damage. You receive no benefit from medicinal applications or potions. Healing spells of level 1 or higher cause you to roll a CON save, against the DC of the caster, or 13 if the DC is unknown. On failure, you take half the point healed in damage to your health. On a success, you take one fourth of points healed in damage.
Necrotic damage from a lv1 spell or higher restores your hit points for half the damage done, as well as resting per the normal rules. You do not need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep, but you still need the benefits of a long rest to reassert your dominion on your dead body.
Sunlight vulnerability: in direct sunlight, all ability checks and attack rolls are at disadvantage. This does not affect saving throws.
You constantly smell of a very faint rot, giving advantage over perception using smell. Beasts and Fey would find the smell unattractive. Undead and Fiend would appreciate it.
