You're no stranger to the dangers of combat, and more than once you've been beaten beyond recognition. It is quite strange that you're the target of most attacks, but you've learned to ignore this and honed yourself to take the brunt of most blows. Despite the bludgeoning you regularly receive, you've learned to fight on and persevere through even the most difficult of encounters. While not bloodied (above one-half of your Hit Point Maximum), your AC is reduced by 1. While bloodied (when at half or less of your Hit Point Maximum), you gain the following effects:
- Your AC is increased by 3.
- You gain advantage on saving throws to resist status conditions or abilities that require you to roll a saving throw at the end of your turn.
- When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. If you already have a feature that provides you with this effect, they are not stackable but you may ignore the long rest requirement, instead you gain 1 level of exhaustion for each use of this feature until you finish a long rest.
Inspired by William Ernest Henley's, 'Invictus'.

Posted Apr 26, 2022Thank you Sir for understanding, "Invictus has been one of my favorites for a very long time."
"Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul."
