Through horrific rituals and vile works of magic, you managed to ascend to lichdom. You must feed your phylactery with the soul of a sentient creature every day or risk going insane, as the tug of limbo rips into your soul and your magic pulls it back into your body, causing constant extreme pain. Only temporarily ceasing when you sacrifice a soul to your phylactery to take the place of yours, for however short of a moment.
You gain the following benefits
- You gain truesight up to 60ft.
- You gain Immunity to Necrotic, Poison; Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks
- Resistance to Cold and lightning damage
- You are immune to the Charmed, Frightened, Paralyzed and Poisoned conditions
- Your intelligence, wisdom and charisma scores increase by 2, to a maximum of 20
- You gain the Paralyzing touch ability
- You count as undead for any spells and effects that specifically affect undead creatures.
- You do not require food, drink, air or sleep
- When you go to 0 hit points and you have a phylactery, you gain a new body in 1d10 days, regaining all your hit points and become active again. The new body appears within 5 feet of the phylactery. While your phylactery is creating your new body, your soul waits inside of the phylactery.
You must sacrifice a soul to your phylactery every day. For each day you do not sacrifice a soul, your intelligence, wisdom and charisma score lower by one and you roll on the indefinite madness table(DMG). When a soul is sacrificed, you regain one point of intelligence, wisdom and charisma but you cannot be rid of the madness effects until you negate all negatives brought on by neglecting sacrifices. If your intelligence, wisdom or charisma score reaches 0, you become an insane lich and your body deteriorates into that of a demilich and all the indefinite madness effects become permanent.
