Prerequisite: Minimum Dexterity of 12
Your knowledge of pressure points, anatomy and martial arts holds allows you to restrain even large creatures.
- You gain your choice of either +1 strength or dexterity subject to racial maximums
- Requires a minimum dexterity of 12.
- Requires either the Monk class or the Healer feat or Medicine.
- You must use your bonus action to attempt the hold after closing to melee range.
- The target must be no more than 2 sizes larger than you
- The target must have pressure points you are aware of to use or they are immune to your hold.
- You may still attempt a normal grapple on hold immune creatures using your Aikito roll and a full action if allowed. Example: Oozes, Constructs and most Undead are immune to the holds, but many undead and some constructs can be grappled.
- Your Aikito roll modifier is determined by choosing the larger of your athletics or acrobatics modifiers and adjusting as follows:
- Your size range or smaller: +4 to roll
- One size larger: No bonus
- Two sizes larger: Roll at disadvantage
- Make an Aikito roll vs the target's STR or DEX roll, whichever is higher
- If you equal or exceed their roll, they are restrained for this turn and take your unarmed attack damage on your turn each turn they are restrained.
- While they are restrained your movement speed is reduced by 50% and your AC is reduced by 4.
- Starting next turn, they can use their bonus action to make either a STR or DEX roll to escape the hold against the value you rolled to restrain them. A natural 20 always escapes regardless.
