Prerequisite: sacrificer feat. Intended for DM’s characters, not recommended for PC’s usage.
Some of the dark priests are trained in the art of creating temples of evil in which the power of their dreadful deities is concentrated. When sacrificing a creature with a CR of 5 or higher, you can choose to create dark shrine instead of the standard effect. This also requires 2,000 gold for special wicked oils and incense. During this process, the altar is magically transformed into a dark shrine: it enlarges, changes shape and becomes overgrown with various marks of a dark deity. It also gets the following effects:
- The shrine receives all the effects of the hollow spell as if it were cast centered on altar. Celestials cannot enter the area, and it’s effect is fear, which spreads to all creatures whose alignment is not evil.
- Choose a spell of level 5 or lower from the warlock's list. It becomes imprinted on the shrine. The target of this spell must be a creature. While within 10 feet of the shrine, its creator can cast this spell on a creature if target is within one mile of the altar. This creature must be familiar to the creator of the wicked shrine, he must have seen it at least once before. An imprinted spell can be changed during any sacrifice on an altar where its creator is present.
- The dark shrine can continue to be used in sacrifices as a normal altar. The duration of the sacrifice ceremony is reduced to 1 minute.
If more than thirteen days have passed since the last offering made on the altar, then he loses all these powers until the sacrifice is made on it.
