Boon of Soul Sight

Your connection to the spiritual world has been strengthened, allowing you to perceive the souls of living creatures with unmatched clarity. Your eyes now glow a faint blue when surrounded by darkness or in the night, attuning to the energies that flow between worlds. You see beyond the physical into the very essence of life itself.

  • Soul Sight: You can see the souls of creatures within 60 feet. This sight functions similarly to Devil’s Sight, allowing you to perceive creatures even through thick walls or large obstacles, as long as they remain within range. You sense their spiritual presence like a faint glow, with the color of the soul offering insight into their nature.

  • Darkvision: Your sight grants you darkvision up to 60 feet, allowing you to see in total darkness as if it were dim light. Your perception of the world is now tethered to the unseen as much as the seen.

  • Soul Sense: In addition to seeing souls, you have a heightened ability to sense living creatures within 60 feet. You can feel the subtle vibrations of their soul, attuned to their emotions and essence. This grants you advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks to discern the truth behind illusions or if the soul you see belongs to an actual creature or is part of a deception.

Soul Colors by Creature Type

Each type of creature radiates a different color that speaks to its nature. These colors are visible in their souls and serve as a guide to the character’s connection to them.

  • Aberrations (Dark Purple): Souls that feel foreign and disorienting, their presence alien.

  • Beasts (White): Simple souls, often pure and unburdened, easy to detect.

  • Celestials (Gold): Souls that shine like the sun, a dazzling and warm light, but can be blinding.

  • Constructs (Varies): Some constructs may possess faint souls, though the glow is muted or absent in many cases.

  • Dragons:

    • Good Dragons (Platinum): A bright, regal glow that pulses with ancient wisdom.

    • Evil Dragons (Crimson Red): A deep, fiery soul that radiates malice and power.

  • Elementals:

    • Fire Elementals (Fiery Red): A burning, ever-moving energy like the flame itself.

    • Water Elementals (Flowing Blue): Souls that ripple like water, fluid and ever-changing.

    • Air Elementals (Gusting White): Ethereal and shifting, their souls swirl like the wind.

    • Earth Elementals (Rambling Brown): Dense, shifting, yet solid, their souls are constantly in flux.

  • Fey (Twilight): Their souls flicker between light and shadow, like the twilight of evening.

  • Fiends (Black): Souls as dark as the void, a heavy and oppressive energy that chills the soul.

  • Giants (Dark Grey): Heavy and grounded, their souls exude strength and ancient power.

  • Humanoids (Pale Blue): A pale blue glow, varying in intensity with emotional shifts (darker with sorrow, brighter with joy).

  • Monstrosities (Varies): Souls are a blend of multiple energies, often chaotic or unstable.

  • Oozes (No Color): Most oozes have no discernible soul unless artificially created, in which case it’s a faint, unnatural glow.

  • Plants (Pale Green): A shared, primal consciousness, not a soul in the conventional sense, but a flicker of life force.

  • Undead (No Color): Most undead lack souls, but if they retain one, it is a dim echo of their former life, colored by the creature type they once were.
