Dragonmarks are the building blocks from which the demihuman peoples of Eberron have risen to their present glory. But not all Dragonmarks are created equal. Some souls are chosen by destiny to bear the Dragonmarks of Siberys; the greatest and most powerful versions of all Dragonmarks. Often, these individuals were not originally marked but found the mark coming to them when they became the individual that destiny required them to be. No wonder then that these individuals are considered the Heirs of Siberys, for their very existence is intertwined with the Draconic Prophecy. And perhaps this life shall not be their last...
If you bear the Greater Dragonmark of Making, your dragonmark has grown in size and power to become a Siberys Mark. This enhances your existing dragonmark, and the benefits are gained in addition to or improve those already granted by the mark that you already possess. If you did not previously bear a dragonmark, the Siberys Mark manifests on its own and does not grant the benefits of the Mark of Making Human dragonmarked race, or Greater Dragonmark associated with the Mark of Making:
- When you make an Arcana check, any ability check involving artisan’s tools, or when you make any ability check to interact socially with a dragon, another dragonmarked creature, or any other creature your DM may deem to have a deep understanding of the significance your mark places you in the Draconic Prophecy, you can roll a d6 and add the number rolled to the ability check or a d8 If you already possessed the Greater Dragonmark of Making.
- Increase your Dexterity or Intelligence score by 1, to a maximum of 20. If either your Dexterity or Intelligence score is already a 20, you may increase an ability score of your choice by one instead, to a maximum of 20.
- You are considered to have the Spellcasting class feature If you do not already have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic class feature. The spells on the Mark of Making Spells table for the Mark of Making Human are considered to be on your class spell list but your class for this purpose remains unspecified. You can cast two spells of your choice on that list once each without expending a spell slot or material components as if you had expended a spell slot equal to half your total character level. The spellcasting ability for these spells is Intelligence. While you wield it, A magical weapon you wield is considered nonmagical for the purposes of determining a valid target for spells cast with this feature, taking the better of the two bonuses. You must complete a long rest to regain all uses of this feature.
- Make Whole: You know the mending cantrip. You may select another cantrip of your choice if you already know it. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell. Once per day you may increase the mending cantrip's casting time to coincide with a short rest. The spell repairs any number of breaks, tears, etc, and is no longer limited in the dimensions the damage must fit within so long as all repairs are made to a single whole made object, vehicle, etc. not including buildings, infrastructure, any object that is damaged to the point it is unidentifiable as that object, or any other made object that is not immediately obvious where it ends and another begins. Furthermore, you can restore magic to a magic item or construct you repair in this way if you provide dragon shards of value equal to half the object's original value at the time it was created which are consumed in the casting of the spell. The DM may waive this additional cost in whole or in part. Maybe you have other features which help you with the creation of magic items, you have access to a well-stocked workroom during the casting of the spell that provides bonuses to such things, you are within the bounds of a manifest zone tied to the object if it was you that originally destroyed its magic, or simply because restoring the object is playing an important part of your role in the Draconic Prophecy.

Posted Dec 1, 2020The main part of the spellcasting feature is mainly aimed at folks who don't have the spellcasting feature already. I wanted them to benefit from in some way from the Spells of the mark if they didn't have a the spellcasting feature, or if they come into this feat as a non-spellcaster. This qualifies them for spellcaster attunement items, feats and the ability to make and use scrolls on that list. Even though the majority of the Mark of Making Spells gain no benefit when cast at a higher level, your Siberys Mark lends the spell resilience ensuring they will be difficult to dispel or counter. This benefit is so rarely going to come in into play compared to the 9th level spells some of the other Siberys Marks were published having in Morgrave and there is no True Creation Spell this edition so overall it was difficult to find a clear cut spell that fit to grant it like some of the other marks. To make matters worse, at late levels everyone's going to already have magic weapons so your targets are lackluster for elemental weapon and magic weapon so I added in a benefit so those who already had the greater dragonmark weren't feeling like this was just a wasted feature.
A magic weapon you wield = (whether its an actual permanent magic item, a temporary class feature, a spell, or any other effect that makes it a magic weapon)
When you target a magic weapon that already provides a magical bonus to attack and damage rolls with it with one of the spells that add a bonus to attack and damage rolls with its target (usually nonmagical) weapon, the flat magical bonuses to attack and damage (+1/+2/+3) do not stack, and can not exceed a +3 total bonus to attack and damage rolls made with that weapon. Should another creature make an attack with the weapon, it ceases meeting the exception that made it a valid target for the spell and the spell ends before the attack roll is calculated; that use of the Mark of Siberys is considered wasted.
The final part of the feat I felt was a good addition that didn't drag 5th edition's item creation disaster back into the spotlight. Being able to restore a Warforged colossus to mint condition with the right amount of dragonshards in an hours time is not something the PCs can afford to do, but having the possibility out there, the scope of such costs become not important making an Heir of Siberys to the Mark of Making invaluable to House Cannith and the Twelve.
