Prerequisite: Requires Franchise License with Acquisitions Incorporated with Documancer or Plaintiff Background present when character dies

Death has come to claim your soul, but how can it when you are contractually bound to Acquisitions Incorporated? If Death wants your soul, it'll have to file the necessary documents with Head Office first.  Legally speaking, you can't be dead without the proper documentation, but legally speaking you're not alive either. And the Not-Formally-Dead-But-Surely-Not-Alive have rights.

You're totally NOT now classified as Undead but...

  • You have 1d10+CON modifier Days before your body starts to accept you are dead and begins deteriorating. After this time period, all of your ability scores decrease by 1 per day: If a character’s constitution is reduced to a score of zero, that character is slain. If any other ability score is reduced to a score of zero, the character is rendered immobile (in the case of strength or dexterity) or comatose (in the case of intelligence, wisdom or charisma).  Gentle Repose can halt the deterioration process, but not Death's legal team.
  • You start to reek of unwashed body CON modifier hours of Non-Aliveness; you don't smell it but everyone in a 30ft radius can.
  • You are vulnerable to Radiant damage and resistant to Necrotic damage. Hit Points can only be restored by resting.
  • If a Necromancy spell that summons or creates undead is cast within 1 mile of you, you will inexorably but lazily be drawn to the location it was cast within 1d12hours.  If the Turn Undead spell is cast in your vicinity, you don't feel the need to flee but gently vacating the area seems the right thing to do.
  • Undead creatures with an INT score of 8 or below ignore you unless attacked; undead creatures smarter than that might invite you over for dinner parties sometime. RSVP not required.
  • You no longer need to sleep, drink, or eat, or breath but occasionally you cry out for things like "BRAINS" or "BLOOD" or "I WANNA TAKE A NAP" as the urge strikes you. You still require rest to reduce exhaustion and still benefit from finishing short and long rests.
  • When an attack would reduce you to 0 hit points, you are instead reduced to 1.  This ability can be used once per round. Your maximum hitpoints are reduced by half every time this ability is used until only 1 remains.
  • If an attack would kill you outright, you are instead brought to 0 and are under the effects of the Feign Death spell for 1d4 hours.
  • When the target is subjected to an effect that would kill it instantaneously without dealing damage, that effect is instead negated against the target,

The effects last until the character dies from a 0 CON score [only reversible by a Wish or True Resurrection spell,   Death puts through the necessary paperwork and legal counsel is consulted (legal case at DM's discretion), or the proper healing spell is administered given the state of deterioration [i.e Revivify if the body has not deteriorated, Raise Dead if deterioration has been less than 10 days, etc]. Upon successful revival, all deteriorated scores recover at the rate of 1 per day, and lost hit point maximum recovers by 1d6 per day.   This feat can only be used once per franchise rank for every Documancer or character with a Plaintiff background in the franchise,  and causes franchise monthly costs to go up 10% for every day  of Life-Adjacent Existence; any attempt at a franchise task by the team member using this feat in the next 30 days causes a complication.
