Those who are meant to be sacrificed for the creation of a Demon Lord are branded with this mark. Branded humans who are fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to survive reside in between the Physical and Astral planes. They are forced to fend themselves against creatures of darkness and the nightly attacks by the restless souls of the dead. When around a Demon Lord, the brand will shoot blood out in huge gushes, and the pain inflicted will be agonizing. If the evil is too great, it can supposedly kill the Branded.
The Brand grants the bearer an unnatural perception of the world around them. They can glimpse into the Astral plane around them, and have advantage on attacks, Wisdom (Surv) against things of an unholy and evil nature. The brand also tends to draw restless spirits towards the Branded causing them to always be on guard.
