You gain an Avian Ally. Choose one Tiny or Small Creature with a Flying Speed of no more than 60 feet, subject to DM's approval.
As a Bonus Action, choose a Creature you can see within 90 feet and instruct your Avian Ally to circle above it and mark it as your quarry. Your Avian Ally circles 15 feet above the marked creature. For up to 1 hour, you deal an extra 1d6 damage to the target whenever you hit it with a weapon attack, and you have Advantage on any Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check you make to track it. If the target drops to 0 hit points before this effect ends, you can use a Bonus Action on a subsequent turn of yours to mark a new creature. You cannot use this feature again until you complete a short or long rest.
At level 6, the damage bonus you deal increases to 1d8, and at level 14 it increases to 1d10.
If your Avian Ally is killed, you can spend your down time during a Long Rest with a new qualifying Avian Creature by performing an Wisdom (Animal Handling) check. A successful Animal Handling check (DC12) gains you a new Avian Ally. You may only have one Avian Ally at a time.
