Prerequisite: Requires proficiency with whips.
You've mastered the discipline of wielding whips as weapons. You gain the following features:
- Your whip damage die increases to 1d6.
- Attacks you make with a whip ignore half cover and three-quarters cover.
- Your Whip Master DC is calculated as 8 + your proficiency bonus + your whip attack ability modifier.
When you successfully attack another creature using a whip, you can choose to forgo dealing damage and apply one of the additional effects:
- You attempt to trip a large sized or smaller creature. The creature makes a strength saving throw against your Whip Master DC or it falls prone.
- If your target is medium sized or smaller, you grapple the target with your whip. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and you cannot make another attack with the whip used to grapple. The grapple also ends if you drop or no longer wield the whip. A creature can use an action on their turn to make an athletics or acrobatics check against your Whip Master DC, ending the grapple on a success.
