You and your familiar have grown an unbreakable bond that has reaped many benefits.
Connection of Mind: You can now read and talk to the familiar with your mind no matter how far you are from them and it does not take a bonus action in battle.
Connection of Health: Your familiar gains 1/2 of your hitpoints as their own, rounding up if needed. They also gain 1/4 of your Ac.
Connection of Power: Your familiar now can do 1d6+1 damage to an enemy with a plus 5 on hit to any enemy with 30 feet of it. This gives an attack of opportunity to the enemy but with a minus 3 on the roll given the tiny or flying aspect of your companion.
Connection of Life: When you die, your familiar dies along with you as it is with profound grief. When it dies, it turns to ash and may be revived at a hefty cost. However, you may choose a new animal Companion by finding one.

Posted Jul 28, 2019Hello, I have a player who really likes this feat and wants to use it with a hawk, but we have questions about its initiative and actions in combat. Does it work like Beast Master Ranger where the animal has the same initiative and has to be commanded with a bonus action? Or does the beast have full autonomy over its actions, acting as a second character gently guided by its telepathic bond?
