Some dwarves have cursed bloodlines which allows them to create Magic Items by infusing them with Magic or storing spells in them.
Alot of people would rather see this as a blessing but the ones with this ability at this as a curse. There are two main reasons why they see it as a curse.
The first is that items that store a spell will randomly break after using them which defies the nature of almost every blacksmith. A true blacksmith wants to create the prefect and his best work when ever he creates something to protect the owner and become known for its work. A weapon or amour that can break when you use it defies this whole mindset and might endanger or even lead to the owners death.
The second reason is that there are alot of powerful people that want that power for their own and go to lengths unimaginable to get this power. There are cases where Smith that were able to build these weapons and amour were looked away in dungeons and forced to create items or be tortured and killed.
That's why nowadays not dwarves with this gift are known because there are not many to begin with and these who have the ability to do so either hide the ability or themselves so they don't draw any attention to them.
You gain +1 INT or CON
You can imbue the Item with Magic giving it certain properties. (Check with your DM for what is possible and what not)
You can only store spells that you have prepared when starting the craft.
A Magic Item has the chance of breaking when using it. Roll 1d10, if the roll is lower than X the item breaks, if it is lower than Y the item no longer has the spell stored.
