You are a selfless and protective individual. Once per day, when a creature you can see is hit by a ranged attack, you can use your reaction to move up to half of your speed and interpose yourself between the target and the attacker. You roll half of the damage dice equal to the damage dice of the attack. The damage to the creature is reduced by that number and is instead taken by you. If you are wielding a shield you can roll a d6. The number rolled reduces the total damage by that amount and is not taken by you or the target.
