Through prolonged exposure to the Border Ethereal by means of the Ethereal Step feature, you have begun to discern colored patterns in the Ethereal mists. Once per use of Ethereal Step, you can track the trace elements of colored mist to a point of convergence, denoting the the location of an Ethereal Curtain. The color of the mists and Ethereal Curtain match the color of whichever plane the spell was cast from. Upon passing through the curtain, you arrive in the Deep Ethereal.
After passing through to the Deep Ethereal, if you know the color of the next Ethereal Curtain you are looking for, you must make a Survival or Perception check, DC 20 minus your proficiency modifier, to discern and follow the corresponding traces of colored Ethereal Mist leading to the Ethereal Curtain of your desired plane of travel. Have the Dungeon Master roll 1d10 x 10 to determine the number of hours it takes to reach the desired Ethereal Curtain.
If you fail the check, or don't know the color of the desired Ethereal Curtain, you can attempt to traverse the Deep Ethereal regardless with no telling of where you'll end up. Have the Dungeon Master roll 1d8 to determine which Ethereal Curtain you will arrive at next (this Curtain can be the same one you just came through). Again have the Dungeon Master roll 1d10 x 10 to determine the number of hours it takes for you to arrive at your next destination.
**At level 16 or higher, you can bring up to four additional players or NPCs with you on this journey to the Deep Ethereal.
