Half-Dragon Transformation Image
Prerequisite: Complete the dragon ritual.

To become a half-dragon the player must preform the dragon ritual, which requires them to bath in dragon blood for 1 hour,  during which time they absorb the blood into their body.  A creature or player who size is tiny requires 20 gallons of blood for the ritual to be successful, 40 gallons if your size is small, 80 if your size is medium, 160 gallons if your size is large, 320 gallons if your size is huge, and 640 gallons if your size is gargantuan.

In order for the ritual to work, all the blood must be from the same color of dragons, while not necessarily the same dragon. Dragon blood takes years, sometimes even decades until it will go bad. Below is a chart on how much blood per gallons a dragons has on average.

DRAGON Gallons of blood size
Wyrmling 5 gallons Medium
Young 20 gallons Large
Adult 80 gallons Huge
Ancient 150 gallons Gargantuan

When a player becomes a half-dragon, it retains all its statistics, but gains the following.

Draconic Blood. You have draconic blood. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic blood table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.

DRAGON DAMAGE TYPE BREATH WEAPON
Black Acid 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Blue Lightning 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Brass Fire 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Bronze Lightning 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Copper Acid 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Gold Fire 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Green Poison 15 ft. cone (Con. save)
Red Fire 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Silver Cold 15 ft. cone (Con. save)
White Cold 15 ft. cone (Con. save)

Draconic Nature. You are incapable of having natural born offspring. Those that wish to propagate must find other ways to do so, almost always involving magic. By way of compensation, You are blessed with long life. Barring unforeseen misfortune, a typical half-dragon’s life expectancy is twice that of its nondraconic line, so that a half-dragon human might live more than a century and a half.

Senses. You gain blindsight with a radius of 10 feet and darkvision with a radius of 60 feet.

Resistances. The half-dragon gains resistance to a type of damage based on its color.

Breath Weapon. You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic blood determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Language. You can speak, read, and write Draconic.

Draconic Appearance. Your skin is covered by a thin sheen of dragon-like scales. Additionally, you may inherit personality traits common to their draconic heritage, so that half-gold dragons are often shy and secretive, while half-copper dragons are impish and playful. Half-green dragons are deceitful, while half-white dragons are often dim-witted brutes. These traits are tempered by a half-dragon’s other lineage, but greed, arrogance, and paranoia are qualities that even good-aligned half-dragons often possess.
