You forge an agreement with your patron, loaning more of their power for a trade-off. Your soul partially guarded by the patron, you only suffer half of the damage inflicted by your enemy. However, all of the damage which has been mitigated will be inflicted right before a short or long rest. This doesn't count damage inflicted from your temporary health pool. This also ignores your temporary health pool when inflicting it.
