Prerequisite: Requires 4 Levels of either Cleric or Paladin, and a Constitution Score of at least 16
Your faith guides you to shield others from harm, even if that priority comes at the expense of your own wellbeing. When compelled by circumstance, one who believes they exist to preserve life will risk their own to protect what they believe to be the greater good. You gain the following benefits:
As a Reaction, a Protector can impose disadvantage on an attacker's attack roll, provided they can see the attacker, under any one of the following circumstances:
- Protector is using a shield when a Target adjacent (5ft) to them is attacked:
- If the attack fails, there is no damage.
- If the attack succeeds, normal damage is applied to the target. If the attack is a critical hit, the protector takes the extra damage granted from the critical hit instead of the target. If the target is unconscious, the target only suffers one death saving throw failure instead of two.
- Protector is not using a shield when a Target adjacent (5ft) to them is attacked:
- If all of the attacker's attack rolls fail to reach the target's AC, the attacker rolls for damage and applies half of that damage to the protector. If one of those attack rolls are a natural 1, the protector instead takes no damage.
- If the attacker does attack with disadvantage and one of these attack rolls fail to reach the target's AC while the other attack roll would have reached the target's AC, the attacker rolls for damage and applies all of that damage to the protector. If one of those attack rolls are a natural 1, the protector instead takes half damage.
- If all of the attacker's attack rolls successfully reach the target's AC, all damage is applied to the target.
- Protector is using a shield when a Target is attacked, and half of their movement would be enough to reach an area adjacent (5ft) to the Target:
- As part of the protector's reaction, they can move up to half of their movement to reach an area adjacent (5ft) to the target. This may provoke opportunity attacks.
- If all of the attacker's attack rolls fail to reach the target's AC, there is no damage.
- If the attacker does attack with disadvantage and one of these attack rolls fail to reach the target's AC while the other attack roll would have reached the target's AC, the attacker rolls for damage and applies half of that damage to the protector. If one of those attack rolls are a natural 1, the protector instead takes no damage.

If one of those attack rolls are a natural 1, the target instead takes no damage.
- If all of the attacker's attack rolls successfully reach the target's AC, all damage is applied to the target.
