Your inspiration pool is 1 + proficiency modifier. You start each session with a minimum of one.
Ways to spend your pool
During gameplay, your inspiration can be spent in a number of ways:
- Just...a...little...more: You can expend an inspiration to increase anyone's roll—even after learning whether the roll succeeeded or failed—by adding 1d6 to the result.
- That's not as hard as you think it is: Before rolling, change someone's disadvantaged roll to normal, or a normal roll to advantaged.
- That's not as easy as you think it is: Before rolling, change someone's advantaged roll to normal, or a normal roll to disadvantaged.
- Lucky: When someone lands a critical hit, you can convert it to a normal hit instead.
- That wasn't as bad as it seemed: When someone rolls a 1 on an attribute or skill check, you can prevent the failure, mishap, or complication that comes along with it.
Acquiring inspiration points
Inspiration can be added to your pool in a number of ways:
- All players begin each session with at least 1 in their inspiration pool.
- By a character playing to their traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws.
- Roleplaying really well.
- Doing something incredibly awesome with your character in a thematic way.
- Doing something incredibly funny with your character in a thematic way.
- Extreme creativity that resulted in a cool thing.
- Epic descriptions of actions in combat that result in a cool moment, pivotal change, or excitement.
Draining your pool
The only way your Inspiration Pool is drained is through usage. If you have 3 inspiration at the end of a session, you'll start with 3 the next session. If you have 0 at the end of a session, you'll start the next session with 1.
